My friends and I came here a few weeks ago during a bachelorette weekend, mainly for the view. We sat outside on the deck, which is great. They give you some potato chips for free, and they were pretty tasty. We also ordered chicken wings and onion rings as appetizers, which we all liked. For my dinner, I ordered a cup of chili and the chicken quesadilla. The other girls ordered various sandwiches and burgers, and were excited about the pretzel buns. The main entrees were nothing special. The chili did not taste like a typical chili, but it wasn't that bad. However, the quesadilla had no flavor. The other girls in the group weren't thrilled with their food as well, and all of us asked for extra mustard/ketchup/salsa/etc. to make our food taste better. The good thing is that the prices were very reasonable. I think the check, with tip, was around $85 for five people. It's not somewhere I would go again, unfortunately.

Nice bar, great drinks. Wish it was summer so could have a view. Will return next time for dinner before a concert. Staff was great. Place could hold a crowd

The view is great and the staff are very friendly. The food is nothing more than average. Me and my girlfriend split the French onion soup and the salmon. The soup was very good but nothing to special. The salmon had some sort of BBQ sauce on it that caught me off guard. It wasn't a bad thing and tasted decent but I wouldn't order it again. As mentioned before the view is truly amazing and it's worth checking out just for that. The bottom line is it's an ok bar food type restaurant so next time I'll stick to there burger menu.

I am so disgusted and livid. The only place on the mountain with a halfway decent dinner menu now has taken their dinner menu off the plate. :( It is bad enough they did away with the awesome breakfast they used to have on weekends a few years ago . It is now a 'sandwich only' place, and the few things that are on the menu aren't even the greatest. We left very disappointed Saturday night, along with everyone else on the deck left confused and upset. All dressed for dinner and presented with a lame little 'sandwich menu.' ????? What the heck is going on. Long gone is the Salmon, Pot roast, Crab cake dinners and all the other dinners are GONE. They are also closed now THREE DAYS A WEEK. Thanks Penns Peak, there is now no reason to ever go there except for a concert. I am deeply saddened over this, as my family and friends ate there at least once a week. This place needs some serious NEW MANAGEMENT and a GOOD COOK and this place would be a GOLD MINE. It just keeps getting worse with this place and the decisions they make every year ! RIP Penns Peak. :(

This place is huge, and I couldn't quite figure it out. There's definitely a restaurant component, but it's also- what? A venue, concert hall type thing? There's a lot going on, in a good way. I came late afternoon with a large group, and they were able to accommodate us easily, which was nice. We ended up sitting at the bar. The big disappointment was that you weren't allowed outside on the balcony/deck area, and I was hoping to get some pictures because the view from the parking lot was pretty awesome and I can only imagine it would have been even better from up there. Oh well, hopefully when the weather is nicer they'll open it up. Our server/bartender was very friendly and attentive, chatting with us about where we were from and how we were spending our weekend. She even took a group photo for us. She gave good advice about the foot, and I ended up ordering a hamburger with mushrooms on it. It was cooked perfectly and it was delicious. The fries were tasty, and the pickle was fresh with a good crunch. Roadies was a good place for lunch, and I'd go back if I'm ever up that way again.

The view was great. We sat on the upper deck and the weather was great. Even put a quarter in the binocular machine. Service was good, but the food was typical bar-food. Nothing special or exciting which is why I only gave this place 3 stars. Definitely worth the drive up from downtown Jim Thorpe just to see the view. I'm sure it's gorgeous in the fall!

I am sad to write this. My husband and I were regulars here. We enjoyed the wing nite. There wings are very very good. They have done away with Tuesday tacos, Wednesday wings with dollar blue moon drafts and are closed those days now. They open on Thursday - Sunday. And open show nights. The full menu is gone. No more salmon or flat iron steaks or crab cakes, just a sandwich and app menu. So Sunday dinners we will have to find a new place. We will miss the servers which we have come to know and like. The management will just say come visit us another night. Why do that when the full menu option is not available. Whomever is making the decisions now needs to be let go because they are going to lose the customer base they had. All that was good is now gone and that's just very sad.

We went last Wednesday night (July 15) for dinner and after waiting over 45 minutes for sandwiches and salad the waitress didn't even apologize and in fact never came by to at least get us additional drinks. The food was nothing special. The only recommendation would be the fabulous view otherwise stay away from here .

Last night (5/9/14) we decided to eat at Roadies before we saw Fitz and the Tantrums at 8pm. We made reservations two weeks prior to have a seat, and when we got there we were seated right away. We had our waitress who was really nice but not memorable (I can't remember her name). We all ordered drinks and two appetizers. The loaded stuffed potato skin were delicious, had layers and were very good. The chili was alright... Not the best. Very small portion for $4. I ordered the roast beef sandwich (which is stated on the menu that it is served cold) I asked that it be heated up. I was hoping to have a warm roast beed sandwich, the waitress said it's only served cold. I thought that was a bit disappointing. The food came out great, the sandwich was delicious. Even though it was cold, the coleslaw was bland though. Prices were ok. We didn't order dessert, I was a little upset still I couldn't get it warm yet. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

We've stopped here a few times on the bike. The view and chips are great, it's all down hill from there. Food is like microwave meals and always slow to arrive.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I can't rate the food because we didn't even get that far before we decided to leave due to the lack of customer service. First we were told that since we didn't have a reservation, we had to wait 30 minutes until all those with reservations arrived so they could choose their seating preference (which was understandable). After getting drinks at the bar, where the bartender was more concerned with our IDs than our drink orders (30+ group), we were seated outside on the deck with the beautiful view. Unfortunately it was too windy, so we asked to be moved inside (after a drink literally blew over). The hostesses assured us that they would take care of moving us inside to the appropriate section so that we would have the same server and we were seated at a new table inside. We waited 10 minutes for a server, inquired about it at the hostess stand, waited another 10 minutes, inquired again. Asked several servers if they had our table, but they did not. After 25 minutes of sitting at a table without being greeted, we asked to speak with a manager who was "too busy to talk" and then eventually came out from the kitchen, only to listen to the hostess and offer no solution at all. After speaking with the manager, a very sweet and apologetic server came to our table finally (30 minutes after moving inside) and unfortunately we couldn't even give her a chance to make up for everyone else's short-comings. It was time to acknowledge that we weren't valued customers, so we left. But, did I mention the view was lovely?

Stopped in yesterday on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. My main reason was to take pictures. Great location for pictures. Bring both your wide angle and zoom lenses. Sat on the deck and had a beer and a cheese steak. Very good. As others have stated, the service is very nice. The free chips are great. I'll be back to take more pictures on another nice day.

The Pros: Oh the view! For that view alone, I would recommend a visit. We chose to sit out on the deck which overlooks miles of valleys and mountains, lakes and rivers. Lovely. Very pleasant, eager to please staff. Very affordable food and abundant serving sizes. The Cons: We waited forever. Granted it was a Saturday night but it was hardly a peak time when we showed up for dinner around 8. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait for a table but we ended up waiting around an hour to be seated. There were empty seats but they seemed to be understaffed...kind of bizzare for a Saturday. The staff were very apologetic about it though for what it's worth. (Probably not their fault any how) The "Eh": Food was average. Comfort/bar food. Tasty but nothing special.

2 hours and 2 orders for the wrong table delivered for us later, I was just barely able to choke down the overbooked burger that I had ordered medium rare. At one point, after handing us the wrong order, the waitress asked us "you didn't touch that too much?" So that she can still hand the fingered up food to the correct recipient. Penns peak is a great place to go see a concert, but be sure to grab food ahead of time!
